Robocar Building Workshop

In conjunction with the Brisbane Robotics Interest Group, we are planning to host a Robocar Building Workshop during National Robotics Week in August. Workshop participants will receive a kit containing all of the necessary hardware and software to build their ready-to-race Robocar. This workshop may be hosted in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, depending on the level of interest in each city.

The complete kit for the workshop includes:

  • HSP 1/16 KAOS RC electric truck
  • 3D printed roll cage and base plate
  • Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
  • Wide angle Raspberry Pi camera
  • 5000mAh USB battery with micro USB cable
  • Assorted machine screws, nuts and washers
  • SanDisk 32GB Extreme MicroSDHC
  • Female to female jumper wire
  • Servo driver PCA 9685
  • Necessary software pre-installed on the SD card

The cost of this workshop including the complete kit will be as inexpensive as possible, likely around $300. Alternatively, participants may register for the workshop for $10 and BYO parts (please be aware that some parts are difficult to source in Australia, and it may be considerably more expensive to purchase parts individually).

Please register your interest in attending the Robocar Building Workshop using the form below. Submitting this form does not commit you to attending the workshop. We are merely gauging interest at this stage. If you have any suggestions or queries, please tell us in the comment section.
